Canoe Bay ® hotel is a 300-acre country estate with three private, spring-fed lakes, located in northwestern Wisconsin, off of U.S. Hwy. 53, just outside the town of Chetek. Driving time is two hours (east) of Minneapolis, six hours (northwest) of Chicago, one hour (north) of Eau Claire. Major interstate highways bring you to within 10 miles of our driveway. For those last 10 miles--beautiful, true "country driving," YOU WILL DEFINITELY WANT TO BRING ALONG OUR OWN WRITTEN DIRECTIONS*. The way is easy...but our specific area is NOT well-researched by GPS systems.
GETTING HERE
Several major airlines serve the Mpls/St.Paul International Airport, which is just a 2-hour drive. Note: We recommend driving from MSP, because connecting flights from Minneapolis to Eau Claire, WI do not offer a net time savings.
For guests connecting in Chicago, United Airlines now offers a thrice-daily non-stop jet service from O’Hare to Eau Claire’s Chippewa Valley Regional Airport, which is just one hour away.
Private planes may land at the Rice Lake Airport, where rental cars are available. www.ricelakeair.com
* Complete driving directions are sent to first-time guests, and we VERY VERY STRONGLY RECOMMEND you bring along a copy of these printed-out written directions rather than depending on GPS-type navigation. Believe it or not, we are in an area that is easily accessible to a major highway, but NOT YET well-mapped by GPS systems. Really!
